Post infected
plugged a friends memory stick into my computer the other day and since have had nothing but problems

when i scan with my anti virus program (Mcafee) it says everything is good.

I downloaded something called spybot S&D which found about 12 different virus/trojans/downloaders/worms.

why didn't mcafee find these? Is Mcafee shit and do I need a new virus gaurd? I get Mcafee free with O2 and it is always fully updated

Since removing the 12 virus with spybot I have scanned once a day and it thinks I'm clean but I am not sure. CPU usage at idle seems high and every now and then a web browser will pop up telling me to download a virus guard (which I presume is another virus?)

HELP

Make sure you update your Spybot and immunize also!
Why didn't McAfee find them cause it is a processor consuming POS!
Totaly delete it and watch your processing usage drop!
I swear by Spy bot!

Spybot picks up stuff that isn't a virus as such but "usually" minor items that see where you go and target spam and crap

personally i use this which is very good and far superior to spybot / adaware

Ok Steve I ran your program, it didn't find anything that spy bot can't find, granted it was faster than spybot, but not sure if as through, but just for safety I will keep both!
